Titans get late pick to beat Commanders, win 3rd in a row
By STEPHEN WHYNO • AP Sports Writer
LANDOVER, Md. (AP) — A teammate yelled at David Long Jr. from a corner of the locker room, "Keep that game ball!"
He wasn't letting it out of his grasp.
Long intercepted Carson Wentz at the 1-yard line with 6 seconds left to preserve Tennessee's third win in a row, 21-17 over the Washington Commanders on Sunday. Derrick Henry again got his team rolling, and Long's play concluded a goal-line stand that vaulted the Titans (3-2) into first place in the AFC South.
"We never panic," Long said of a defense that has made two game-saving plays in the past three weeks.

Financial Focus: Should you consolidate retirement accounts?
By Sarah Sipes Bull
One of the rewards for working over several decades
is the ability to contribute to tax-advantaged retirement accounts, which can help provide needed income for you when you do retire.
As the years went by, you may well have accumulated several retirement accounts,
such as IRAs and 401(k)s or similar employer-sponsored plans. But you might find it advantageous to consolidate these accounts
with a single provider.
Consolidating them can provide you with several potential benefits.

Letter to the Editor: Views from Rick Shannon, independent candidate for Congress’ 5th District, need to be heard
To the editor:
The three primary candidates who contended for the Republican nomination for the 5th District in Congress in August — Gen. Kurtis Winstead, the Honorable Beth Harwell, and Maury County Mayor Andy Ogles — are all fine Tennesseans.
By elimination, I concluded Ogles had the best chance of winning in November and should be supported as the best conservative candidate. In this letter, I’d add the imperative that the policy ideas of the independent candidate Rick Shannon (53) also be known.
