While he wasn't a broadcaster in Fort Wayne, Dr. Louis Cantor taught history at IPFW. When at college in Memphis, he worked at the legendary WDIA Radio. Later in life, Dr. Cantor authored two broadcasting books: "Wheelin' on Beale: How WDIA-Memphis Became the Nation's First All-Black Radio Station and Changed the Sound that Changed America" and "Dewey and Elvis: The Life and Times of a Rock 'n Roll DJ."
Sad to report that Dr. Cantor died on January 25 (Age 84) from Alzheimer's disease. A celebration of life will be held this Saturday (03/16). Here's the complete obituary.
