The GW Cancer Center is a training and technical assistance provider of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Comprehensive Cancer Control Program.

All of the GW Technical Assistance Program Cancer Awareness toolkits have ready-to-post information and resources to specific audiences including LBGTQ messaging from trusted sources. Below are two examples of our social media content that is ready for you to download and post!

Mandi Pratt-Chapman, PhD, Associate Director, Community Outreach & Engagement, has co-authored a paper in the American Society of Clinical Oncology Journal on the significance of SOGI data in cancer research. She also gave an interview with The American Journal of Managed Care, which highlights factors affecting adequate, accessible health care for transgender patients and policy-level changes to benefit transgender patient care and experiences in clinical settings.

The Cancer Survivorship Cancer Awareness Toolkit provides ready-to-post social media content for coalitions and cancer programs. 

The West Virginia Cancer Coalition created a Take Pride in Your Health media campaign for the LGBTQ community in West Virginia. They partnered with the National LGBT Cancer Network, the WV Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program, and Covenant House to create videos on tobacco cessation, screening, and the importance of LGBTQ -affirming care.
