School of Nursing to Become the College of Nursing in January |
On Jan. 15, 2024, the Radford University School of Nursing will be renamed the Radford University College of Nursing.
The nursing program got the news on Dec. 1 that the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) approved the name change. With the new name, nursing will follow the same nomenclature pattern as other independent academic units at the university, such as the Waldron College of Health and Human Services, the Artis College of Science and Technology, the College of Visual and Performing Arts, etc.
| |
As a result of this name change, Radford University will have the only College of Nursing among public institutions in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Nursing will celebrate becoming a college in the new Roanoke Higher Education Center nursing spaces in January. More details will be shared about that celebration soon.
