Josh Summers and Georges Fadel are elected to prestigious positions in the Design Society

Josh Summers was elected to the advisory board of the Design Society at the ICED International Conference on Engineering Design in Delft, Netherlands. Georges Fadel was elected vice president and continues as a member of the Board of Management of the Design Society.

John Wagner received recognition from Serita Acker, director of PEER & WISE, for commitment to diversity and inclusion on the Clemson University campus.

Sandip Dutta, a lecturer in mechanical engineering, has been recognized with a University Research, Scholarship and Artistic Achievement Award.

Fadi Abdeljawad receives the Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award

Oak Ridge Associated Universities has awarded competitive research grants totaling $180,000 to 36 junior faculty from its member institutions. The annual grants are made through the company’s Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Awards program that provides funds to enrich the research and professional growth of young faculty.

Suyi Li wins research grant in the field of soft robotics

Suyi Li, assistant professor in mechanical engineering, won a three-year, $276,000 grant from the Dynamics, Control and Systems Diagnostics program of the National Science Foundation.

Malena Agyemang selected to attend ACTIVE, the CU Engineering Faculty Development and Leadership Intensive

The book, “Energy-Efficient Driving of Road Vehicles,” discusses how connected and automated vehicles are marketed for their increased safety, driving comfort, and time-saving potential.

Mechanical Engineering Professor Cameron Turner won ASME’s Computers and Information in Engineering 2019 Distinguished Service Award.
