Josh Summers was elected to the advisory board of the Design Society at the ICED International Conference on Engineering Design in Delft, Netherlands. Georges Fadel was elected vice president and continues as a member of the Board of Management of the Design Society.

Oak Ridge Associated Universities has awarded competitive research grants totaling $180,000 to 36 junior faculty from its member institutions. The annual grants are made through the company’s Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Awards program that provides funds to enrich the research and professional growth of young faculty.

Suyi Li wins research grant in the field of soft robotics

Suyi Li, assistant professor in mechanical engineering, won a three-year, $276,000 grant from the Dynamics, Control and Systems Diagnostics program of the National Science Foundation.
