Passport Week
Passport Week Gives Customers More Options
The Clerk’s Office recently wrapped up its third Passport Week, and judging by the numbers it was a big success. In all, we were able to process 437 passports during our extended Passport Week hours. That’s in addition to the hundreds of other passport applications processed during normal business hours.
So what is Passport Week? It’s a week-long event that the Clerk’s Office hosts a few times a year to give working families additional time to come to certain Clerk locations to complete the passport application process. During the week, our Apopka, Ocoee and Winter Park branches stay open an extra hour each weeknight and open on Saturday to serve passport customers.
Look for another Passport Week in the fall of 2017.
Global Employee Health & Fitness Month
Clerk’s Office Celebrates Global Employee Health & Fitness Month
May is Global Employee Health & Fitness Month and the Clerk’s Office is jumping in with both feet. We are using the month-long observance to promote healthy options for our employees – events like lunchtime walks around the courthouse, a health and fitness expo, and a fitness Q&A where employees can get answers to their health and wellness questions.
Because May is also Mental Health Awareness Month, we partnered with the Mental Health Association of Central Florida to deliver a workshop to employees on how traumatic events can affect behavior. The workshop also included a wealth of information on coping and where to turn to for help. After all, it takes a strong mind, body and soul to be truly healthy.

The Clerk's May Star Performer
May Star Performer
Congratulations to deputy clerk Dannie Schonher for being selected as the Clerk’s May Star Performer. Dannie is part of the Clerk’s Administrative team and prides herself on being efficent, effective and proactive in everything she does.
“Dannie is the first one at the office in the morning and usually one of the last to leave at night,” said one of the directors who nominated her. “She is a true professional. It's hard to find someone who thinks of things before they happen. 'I got it covered' is her mantra."
