Robert Blacha was lead author of “Leaky Apps: Targeted Deanonymization on Mobile Phones” which won Best Paper at the ACM Conference on Data and Application Security and Privacy, in Frankfurt, Germany this summer. The work took place before Blacha graduated in May from Ying Wu College of Computing with an M.S. in cybersecurity and privacy program.

Congratulations to Ph.D. candidate Chun Jie Chong and his advisor, Assistant Professor Zhihao "Zephyr" Yao, for winning the Best Paper Award at ACM REP 2026 for "Measuring Reproducibility in LLM Research: A Rubric and Cross-Topic Corpus Study."
This work explored a very timely, real-world challenge, as Large Language Models (LLMs) are rapidly adopted, in making sure that AI software research is actually reproducible and trustworthy.

Professor Jason Wang Awarded New NSF Grant to Research the Impacts of Solar Eruptions on Earth |
We commend Prof. Jason Wang on receiving a new NSF grant to support his project "Collaborative Research: CAIG: AI-Enabled, Physics-Aware, Explainable Forecasting of Thermospheric Density with Uncertainty Quantification." The work focuses on the impacts of solar eruptions on Earth and considers the travel/transit time of solar eruptions from the Sun to Earth. His earlier NSF-funded grant researched predicting solar eruptions on the Sun.
