We have some special programs planned falling in line with our worship series around wisdom.  We hope you mark your calendar and make plans to attend!  Meal begins at 5:45 with our programs to start at 6:20.
Prices are $9 for adults, $5 for kids 12 and under, and $27 maximum per family.
Remember that we need you to reserve your meals by Monday at noon so that we can be good stewards with our resources.

Tonight, September 20: Mexican Night and The Wisdom of Gleaning with our speaker Langston Moore from the Society of St. Andrew. Langston Moore is a lifelong resident of Mississippi, serves as the Mississippi Regional Director for the Society of St. Andrew, a fresh food gleaning organization. Moore leads the development, donor, and congregational relations as well as oversees the direction of the office with a program coordinator. He has over fourteen years of experience in the field of food insecurity, hunger relief and food access. Moore is a former board member of the Mississippi Food Policy Council, and is co-founder of the Mississippi University and College Anti-Hunger Alliance. He is a graduate of Mississippi College and he, his wife, and 20 year-old son are active members of Fondren Church in Jackson. Moore has been with The Society of St. Andrew since August of 2020.
Our children will have a game night and our youth and bridge will remain in the worship center for the speaker.  Beds for kids will not build tonight.  

September 27: Pork Loin and a Wisdom panel of some of our Senior Saints.  Come listen to some of Parkway Hills' Senior members share about their life experience and answer some questions. Kids will focus on spiritual practices in the Garden room but youth and bridge will remain in the worship center to listen to the panel. Reserve here for September 27.

October 4: The Wisdom of Counseling with Dr. Branden Henry.  How do we heal from hurts, hangups, and even addiction?  Branden is a licensed marriage and family therapist trained in treating trauma and addictions. You can check out his website here. He will discuss his personal and professional journey through counseling and how it can lead to freedom and wholeness.  

October 11: No Wednesday Night Activities due to Fall Break. Leadership Board will meet in the Garden room at 6:20.  

Pop-up Book Club Wednesday, October 18 at 6:20 pm following our evening meal.  As we reflect on the wisdom of Scripture, you're invited to get a copy and read Things Hidden: Scripture as Spirituality by Richard Rohr, and join us for a discussion Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 6:20 following our Re:treat meal. Things Hidden is available on Amazon.
What is your earliest memory of church? What makes church meaningful for you? Do you have a funny church story? Come share your church story and get to know your Parkway Hills family better at our $5 café Tuesday, September 26 at 11:00 am in the Worship Center. We will sing, share, fellowship, and eat.  A sandwich platter from McAlisters and sides and desserts are on the menu. We do ask that you RSVP by Sunday, September 24 so that we can be good stewards of our resources. You can RSVP here or by contacting the church office. Invite a friend to join us!    

Check out our October Calendar of Events for the Children's Ministry   We'd love to see you on Wednesday nights for our Re:treats along with a few special off-campus events.  
Sunday School Volunteers  Sunday, Oct. 1 we will start our new Sunday School unit and dive into the Faith stories of the Old Testament. There are three Sunday School classes from PreK - 4th grade; click here to sign up to teach. All volunteers must have a background check before volunteering in children's ministry.

The Bridge:

5th and 6th Graders are invited to join us for an overnight trip to see the MS Aquarium in Gulfport. We will leave after church Sunday, October 8, head to the coast, stay the night at Seashore Assembly in Biloxi, tour the Aquarium Monday, October 9 and head home. Cost: $60 and this includes their aquarium ticket. Must register by Sunday, October 1. Any adults are welcome to join! Click here to register

You're invited to a special afternoon for our youth to show off their talents and what the PHUMC Youth Ministry means to them! Join us October 1 from 4-6pm for art displays, musical performances, and a silent auction as we raise funds for our 2024 summer mission trip.
