A Note from the President

Dear Tiger Families,
As Louisiana’s Flagship University, part of our mission is to provide an exceptional education that positions our graduates for excellence after graduation. But as a member of the elite 1% of universities able to claim the triple designation of land-, sea-, and space-grant institution, we are poised to do even more for our students. We want to transform our Tigers into leaders who will shape and mold the world into a better place. And to that, we say: challenge accepted.
Your Tigers are working alongside faculty who are revolutionizing education, making scientific breakthroughs that lead to Nobel Prizes, and developing new medications that will increase the quality of life for people around the world. They are getting the type of education that allows them to not just follow their dreams, but also to carve their own path. Two out of three Tigers graduate with zero debt, and when they enter the professional world, they earn salaries that average $12,000 above the national norm. That’s the kind of background that employers and graduate schools alike are looking for … and it’s the type of experience that sets our university apart from others.
As always, thank you for trusting us with your Tiger.
Sincerely,
F. King Alexander
LSU President
