NeighborWorks promotes three team members
NeighborWorks has experienced significant growth in recent years, and a driving force behind this growth has been the exceptional contributions of three of our talented and committed team members – Pamela Anslinger, Mary Endrusick and Todd Pousley.
Over the past 5 years, each has led their respective program area through an expansion of geographic coverage, an increase in impact and outcomes, and in securing additional resources to benefit the people of northeastern Pennsylvania. In recognition of their incredible work, we are delighted to announce the well-deserved promotions of Pam, Mary and Todd to our "Director" level. Their new titles are as follows:
Pam Anslinger: Director of HomeOwnership Services
Mary Endrusick: Director of Aging in Place Services
Todd Pousley: Director of Community Development
Join us in congratulating them on this well-deserved accomplishment! Click here to read more about Pam, Mary, and Todd and their respective accomplishments over the past five years.

Two blighted properties removed in West Scranton
These are two future sites of something great! Our team recently managed the demolition of two abandoned and blighted homes in West Scranton which have now been transformed to improved spaces. We are grateful for our longstanding partnership with the Lackawanna County Land Bank in helping us eliminate blight in our community!

Aging in Place program receives McGowan grant
Leo McGowan, President, Board of Directors, William G. McGowan Charitable Fund; Mary Endrusick, Director of Aging in Place Services at NeighborWorks Northeastern PA; Jesse Ergott, President & CEO at NeighborWorks Northeastern PA.
Our Aging in Place program recently received generous support from the William G. McGowan Charitable Fund to help expand our work assisting seniors throughout Lackawanna and Luzerne counties. Their critical investment has helped NeighborWorks to provide a more comprehensive approach to helping our older neighbors stay in their homes safely and with dignity.
The William G. McGowan Charitable Fund has, since its inception, maintained a vision to
impact lives, to create sustainable change, and to empower future generations to achieve
their greatest potential. The Fund brings that vision to life through grant-making efforts in
three program areas: Education, Human Services, and Healthcare. They prioritize programs that align with its values, championing ethical leadership and the inherent value of every life as cherished principles instilled by its benefactor, William G. McGowan. Thanks again to our friends at the McGowan Charitable Fund for the support!

Luzerne County ECHO program open for applicants
NeighborWorks and the Luzerne County Area Agency on Aging have collaborated to bring the Elder Cottage Housing Opportunity (ECHO) program to Luzerne County to help older adults live safely and independently near caregivers in their community. ECHO units are small, separate manufactured homes that are temporarily placed on the property of an older adult's friend or family member, allowing the older adult to maintain independence while the property owner continues to provide caregiving to ensure the older adult's safety. Applications will be taken until February 15, 2024.

Please go here for more information and application instructions.

Snow Angels program in full swing this winter
The Snow Angels volunteer program has been hard at work this winter in shoveling sideways and driveways for their older neighbors. This program, administered by our Aging in Place program in partnership with the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, connects volunteers with older adults who need assistance with shoveling their sidewalks and driveways within 24-48 hours of a snowfall.

We are still accepting Snow Angels applications, available here.
