On this day, colleges and universities across the country recognize first-generation students as trailblazers, applaud their efforts and offer support for their continued success.

Great American Smokeout

The Great American Smokeout is an annual event that encourages the UT community to commit to healthy, smoke free lives. Quitting smoking isn’t easy. It takes time and a plan. The Great American Smokeout can be your Day 1 to begin your smoke-free journey. Stop by for information about support and resources for those interested in reducing or quitting smoking, how to support those planning to quit, fun activities, and giveaways – including a free shirt!
Pre-Kwanzaa Celebration

The annual Pre-Kwanzaa celebration highlights the traditions and importance of Kwanzaa to African American culture. The event is often celebrated with a combination of a candle-lighting ceremony, feast (Karamu), and dancing.
