AJTMH Focuses on Mentorship Training in LMICs, Global Health Research

Although mentoring is an important part of academic research, it is not common practice in many countries. In particular, many mentoring guidelines and strategies are tailored for high-income countries and lack appropriate approaches for mentoring in low and middle-income countries (LMICs).
A special issue in the American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (AJTMH) on mentorship training and global health research features articles by Fogarty Fellows and Scholars, and Fogarty consortia leadership. Doug Heimburger, M.D., M.S., VIGH Assistant Director, is the co-author on two articles on the importance of mentoring in LMICs and mentorship training programs in LMICs.
A full list of articles in the special issue may be found online ahead of the print publication, and pdf versions are available for download.
