How to Spend $2.6B Dollars?Good news is that indications are the Paycheck Protection Program forgiveable loans that have been a lifeline for businesses across Steele County and Minnesota will conform to the federal tax code. This means MN won't tax those revenues to business. What about the rest?
Minnesota Senator John Jasinski met with the Chamber Policy committee to discuss end of session. He also discussed the workforce shortages and those challenges facing business.

Congratulations to Shirley Schultz, MainStreet Director who has announced her retirement effective June 30, 2021. For the last 4 years Shirley has led the MainStreet Owatonna initiatives including: MainStreet America Strategic Plan, Downtown Thursdays, Wayfinding, EDA Façade programs, Streetscape planning, Flower Basket program, Farmers Market, OBP work and much more. We will give Shirley a proper send off, but wanted you to know her plans. Thank you Shirley!

This theme/brand can be used throughout the project and can be used in other ways related to the high school project, industrial park and others. Tool kits for businesses will be availalbe along with a social media and website plan.

OCLA program is designed to enable candidates to learn about Owatonna resources, values, strengths, weaknesses, and challenges. A learning experience geared toward providing an in-dept look at eight key elements of our community; education, economic development, government, healthcare, public safety, quality of life, agri-business and culture & diversity. This program will provide opportunities for candidates to exchange ideas, build networks and begin the process of identifying and solving important community issues.
