We are Water Team Receives Governor’s Award


The We are Water project team, led by the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES) in partnership with STAR Net, the Indigenous Education Institute, CoCoRaHS, and others, received prestigious recognition at the annual CO-LABS Governor’s Awards for High-Impact Research. The Pathfinding and Partnerships Award honored the ongoing program and the collaboration that was integral to the program's success.

Were you one of the more than 11,000 public libraries, tribal libraries, bookmobiles, state libraries, school libraries, military libraries or prison libraries who participated in this weekend's amazing event? Please complete the below survey as soon as possible so we can get an accurate picture of the number of programs conducted utilizing the free resources provided by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, National Science Foundation, and NASA through the SEAL (Solar Eclipse Activities for Libraries) project and NASA@ My Library. Remember, this survey (which should take less than 8 minutes) is required if you registered for eclipse glasses. If you did not receive your glasses yet but used SEAL or NASA@ My Library materials for your programs, please take this survey!!!

TOTALITY! Reading with Kinesthetic Astronomy Demonstration 


Astronaut Steve Bowen reads the book Totality! By Jeffery Bennett on the ISS and does a kinesthetic astronomy demonstration. Giving young learners a simple understanding of the astrophysics of an eclipse. Learners can then follow Steve’s instructions as they try out the lunar eclipse dance to understand the unique rotation of the Earth, Moon, and Sun.
