Conference, Starting a Nonprofit, MC News
Conference Announcements Coming!
We are excited to start unveiling different aspects of our Nonprofit Conference that will take place in September. Over the coming months, we will be sharing our keynote speaker, panelists, and session facilitators with you and those that have expressed interest in attending.
Congratulations to all of the Raptors who graduated May 19, 2023! We cannot wait to see how they make an impact in their communities!
Let us know you are interested in attending and receive information about how and when to register for the conference a week before it opens.
If you or someone you know has considered starting a nonprofit business, this session will help you sort through the research, steps to establish the organization and actions that keep you compliant with the oversight bodies that govern the sector.
TWO DATES: July 18 and August 8
You will learn what makes a charitable organization a public benefit and the key ingredients that will help you move your ideas toward success. The financial investment and alternatives to creating a new charity will be a focal point of the dialogue. Come ready to share your ideas and learn the resources available to help if you start a nonprofit organization!

Maryland Governor Wes Moore announced Dr. Sanjay Rai, Montgomery College’s senior vice president for academic affairs, as acting secretary for the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC). He started his new role in early May.
Dr. Rai has consistently and vigorously advanced innovations that bolster student success in academic, career, technical, and workforce development programs throughout his career. He has worked to remove barriers to education access through the redesign of developmental education, revision of alternate placement policies, and embedding of coaches in classrooms to increase student success.
We wish Dr. Rai all the best in his new role.
