Whether you are joining us for the very first time or returning for another year, welcome (back!) to campus. As an authorized payer, you play an important role in supporting your student’s success. This newsletter is designed to give you key dates, reminders, and resources to help you stay on top of billing and payments throughout Fall Quarter.
📅 Important Fall Billing Dates
- September 24 – Fall tuition & registration fees due (major deadline!)

October 24 – October billing statement due
- November 20 – November billing statement due
To avoid financial holds, please make sure your student’s account is paid by these dates.
For other important dates, such as the deadline to waive your health insurance (if you have not for Fall Quarter), the last day to enroll in TRIP, or when financial aid disburses, please review the quarterly billing newsletter.
💻 Viewing & Paying the Bill
You can log in to TritonPay with your authorized payer account to:
- View current balances and charges

Make payments directly online
- Set up payment methods

💸 Mailing a 529 Check
If you are not using the electronic 529 payment option in TritonPay and will send a paper check instead, make sure to initiate the payment as early as possible to ensure it arrives by the deadline. When setting up the payment, confirm the following:

Institution: UC San Diego (University of California, San Diego)
- Address: 9500 Gilman Drive MC 0009, La Jolla, CA 92093
- Student ID: Include your student's ID number on the check so payment can be applied to the correct account.
If your 529 payment has not been applied to your student's account by September 24, please submit a ticket to our team via the Student Services & Support Portal.
💡 Helpful Resources
Direct Deposit for Refunds
If your student receives financial aid or other credits, encourage them to sign up for Direct Deposit. Refunds are processed much faster compared to paper checks.
Tuition Installment Plan (TRIP)
Looking for payment flexibility? The Triton Registration Installment Plan (TRIP) lets you spread tuition and registration payments across three monthly installments. Enroll by September 24 to pay a $40 fee—after that date, the fee increases to $65.
GradGuard Tuition Insurance (Optional)
UC San Diego has partnered with GradGuard to offer optional tuition insurance. This coverage can help protect your student’s investment in case they must withdraw due to illness, injury, or another covered reason.
Watch Out for Scams
Please be cautious of phishing emails, phone calls, or fraudulent websites asking for personal or payment information. Review our tips for protecting yourself.
1098-T Tax Form (Action Item!)
Have your student opt in for electronic delivery of their 1098-T Tuition Statement. This ensures quicker and safer access when tax season arrives.
