Fall 2020 Updates
Fall 2020 Updates
All of the faculty and staff are looking forward to welcoming all of our Hospitality and Retail Management students back to campus! As we prepare for the beginning of Fall classes, read on for important information to help you prepare.
Dear HRM students,

We continue to find ourselves engaged in unprecedented events that require patience, purpose, and perseverance. During this time, where we seek safety for our students and community, we strive to provide our students with the best and most comprehensive educational experience. We also understand that you may be looking for safe and supportive solutions for pursuing your educational goals this semester. In some cases, that solution may be to continue your education on campus in Lubbock. For others, continuing your education from a distance instead of on the Lubbock campus may be the solution.

The Department of Hospitality and Retail Management is committed to ensuring that your plans and progression to graduation and an excellent academic experience continue uninterrupted. If you find the course you need is full, please contact your academic advisor, Donna Burt (Donna.Burt@ttu.edu). She can assist in making sure you are able to enroll in the courses you need.

If you require an online course solution that you do not see offered, please email Donna Burt. She will contact me so that we can find you the best solution. We are committed to providing you the most options possible to continue your Red Raider education from the location that is best suited to you. For all other information related to updates for students, please visit the TTU Commitment website.

Sincerely,

Dr. Robert Paul Jones
Associate Professor and Department Chairperson

When you arrive on campus you will notice a few changes. Please read the updates below.

Face coverings are required. Students are expected to enter the building wearing a face covering and keep it on throughout the class period and when walking throughout the building. Students are also asked to wear a face covering outside or in any other environment when social distancing is not possible.

Signage. There will be plenty of new signage in and on buildings and across campus to alert students of safe entries and exits, gathering and queuing spaces, and availability of masks and hand sanitizer. There will also be plenty of reminders regarding social distancing, hand washing, and face covering.

Seating assignments. Students are expected to sit at a minimum of six feet apart. A required seating chart will be created once everyone is positioned with appropriate social distancing. There will also be an orderly procedure designed to ensure proper social distancing when exiting the classroom.
