In a seemingly ordinary suburb, Ben and Mary welcome their new neighbors Sharon and Kenny for a friendly backyard barbecue. What begins as neighborly hospitality quickly ignites into an exploration of middle-class anxiety and unfulfilled American dreams. "A sharp X-ray of the embattled American psyche" (The New York Times) and "tense, terrific, funny" (New York Observer), this Pulitzer Prize finalist "perfectly captures a certain pervasive lifestyle of today" with "cascading, hilarious monologues" (Time Out New York). Lisa D'Amour's bittersweet and explosive dark comedy rips up the floorboards of suburban life to reveal what's simmering beneath the surface. Fire up the grill... and expect fireworks.
Detroit runs from November 13th through November 23rd at the Court Theatre in the Mullen Center. For tickets, please visit the Mullen Center Box Office.

The Unrefined Line: CoBrA's Rebellion in the Collection |
On view September 8th, 2025 - January 16th, 2026
In 1948, a group of young European artists formed CoBrA, named for their cities of Copenhagen, Brussels, and Amsterdam. Inspired by children’s drawings, folk art and Nordic myths, CoBrA artists drew from sources unshaped by tradition. Their work was primal and inventive — it captured both the innocence of imagination and the frenzied energy of a post-war world.
In The Unrefined Line, we take a closer look at a selection of the 80-plus CoBrA artworks in the Villanova University Art Collection. We ask how this wild and short-lived art movement made its way into our collection, and why its legacy still resonates today.
The Villanova University Art Gallery is on the 2nd Floor of the Connelly Center, centrally located on the Villanova Campus. The Art Gallery is free and open to the public.
For more information, please visit the Villanova Art Gallery.
