| Engagement Day 2017Join us on January 19 for our third annual Engagement Day. Meet with students from all three U-M campuses as well as faculty, staff, and community partners to learn new ways to get involved on campus or in the community. Opportunities for service learning, research, and volunteerism will be on display. We are also looking for alumni presenters whose work demonstrates a collaboration between the UM-Dearborn campus and community, including private sector, non-profits, government agencies and others. University Center. 8:30 a.m.: Opening Ceremony
Following the ceremony volunteers will depart in their own vehicles to the alumni site at Michigan Urban Farming Initiative (7432 Brush St., Detroit, MI 48202). MUFI uses urban agriculture as a platform to promote education, sustainability and community in an effort to empower communities, solve social problems and develop a broader model for redevelopment for other urban communities. Bring boots and gloves and come prepared to work with your hands! Lunch will be provided on-site by the Office of Alumni Relations. Register here.

| With support from Annual Fund gifts, CASL students had the opportunity last summer to see the world through another perspective and to experience an "Educational Expedition" offered through our study abroad programs. Two other CASL Annual Fund options with giving challenges:
- Members of the CASL Dean's Advisory Council offered a challenge of $11,000 to raise funds for the UM-Dearborn CASL Student "Get to Graduation" Fund. Every year CASL students face financial barriers or unanticipated expenses that cause them to struggle to stay in school. Your gift helps eliminate those barriers, gets students to their graduation and shows them the difference philanthropy can make.
