Happy Easter Pilots!

This week marks the beginning of the Easter Season, the high point of the church year, which lasts until the feast of Pentecost on May 31. While we are all experiencing a time of uncertainty and hardship, we hope that our Pilots can also find a sense of hope and peace during this Easter season!

"Perhaps that's where we are this Easter morning - not belting out 'Alleluias' at the top of our lungs. Perhaps they feel a bit more muted and introspective this year. But also - perhaps we're being ushered along in our journey of faith, coming to know, like the disciples on that first Easter morning as they stood in the empty tomb, that there is more around us than can be seen."

To keep the Resurrection foremost in mind, listen to the homily from yesterday’s Easter Mass at the UP Chapel of Christ of the Teacher, given by Fr. Timothy Weed, C.S.C.

Corners of Campus

For the past few years on Good Friday, when there are typically no classes, UP’s Campus Ministry has organized a Stations of the Cross Pilgrimage from campus to the St. Andre Chapel in downtown Portland, which serves many who are experiencing homelessness.
Read how Campus Ministry adapted quickly to social distancing precautions and created a virtual Stations of the Cross at different locations around the UP Campus.
Even though we are now in the Easter season, the Stations of the Cross can be prayed at any point of the year, especially on Fridays to commemorate the Passion of Christ. It is also a great way to join with the Pilot Community in prayer and make a virtual visit to The Bluff.

A Verse for Today

“I bless the Lord who counsels me; Even in the night my heart exhorts me. I set the Lord ever before me; With him at my right hand I shall not be disturbed.” Psalm 16:7 From April 13 Daily Readings. Image of bird in tree.
