 | Sept. 8, 2026 | | | | | |  | Mike Giancola to Retire From NC State, Named Dean of Students and Associate Vice Provost at University of Pittsburgh | | | After 28 years of dedicated service to NC State, Mike Giancola, Division of Academic and Student Affairs (DASA) assistant vice chancellor and student ombuds, is set to pursue a new chapter of his higher education career. Effective Nov. 1, Giancola will retire from NC State, and become the new dean of students and associate vice provost at the University of Pittsburgh. DASA wishes Mike the best in all his future endeavors and thanks him for his many years of service.
