Dear Partner in Ministry,
What a wonderful beginning to the fall program year! Last Sunday, the pews were full, the choir was back, the Town Hall was well attended, and there was a real joy in gathering together again. Adults enjoyed a lovely continental breakfast at the Town Hall and Punch Bunch after worship, while children—and even some adults!—enjoyed snow cones outside. Our nursery, Young Children in Worship, and Children’s Church were all filled with happy children. It was a joyful beginning to a new season of worship, learning, fellowship, and life together.
This Sunday, the fall program year continues with a pancake breakfast at 9:45am in the Georgetown Room before worship. Everyone is invited, and it is a wonderful way to gather together and support our youth.
This Sunday is also Bible Sunday. At the beginning of the Sunday School year, our kindergarten, third grade, and sixth grade students will receive Bibles of their own—Bibles they can read, explore, and grow with as they learn the stories of Scripture. Giving children a Bible is one of the ways we live out the promises we make at baptism—to nurture them in the Christian faith and walk alongside them as they grow. We hope these Bibles will be well used, filled with questions, and become a meaningful part of each child’s faith journey. Bible Sunday also reminds us that helping children grow in faith is something we do together, as a church community and across generations.
