TMA’s legal and advocacy experts are bringing their annual legislative report to Nashville next week. This 1-hour CME session features a summary of their work on Capitol Hill during the most recent sessions of the Tennessee General Assembly, including a detailed analysis of new healthcare laws.

Physicians in Training Network at NAM

Medical Student and Resident members of the Nashville Academy of Medicine came together for a networking event at NAM on Tuesday, September 19.  Leadership of the medical student chapters of Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt University shared about their chapter activities and engagement opportunities with attendees. NAM Board Member, Jane Siegel, MD, shared with the group the importance of engaging with organized medicine and participating in opportunities to shape the future of medicine in Nashville. Thank you so much for everyone who came out!

MPHD Behavioral Health and Wellness Division offers Suicide Prevention Awareness Trainings for the community.  The 90 minute course provides participants with statistical information, steps on recognizing warning signs, what to do if they do encounter someone in emotional distress, and resources on how to refer the person for help. Participants of the training will receive written material and a resource booklet for easy access to help others.
