Colleagues,
I have good news about our search for a new leader in the College of Sciences and Mathematics as Dr. Lynn Boyd has accepted our offer to become our dean.
Lynn joins us from Middle Tennessee State where she currently is the department chair for biology, and is the leader of her own research lab. As you all know, we just completed Create@State that highlights the work of our students, particularly undergraduates, in research. She shares our same commitment to student involvement in these type of projects, and I'm looking forward to her leadership in building on what has become one of our hallmark programs.
Lynn will join us at the start of the next academic year. I do want to take a moment to thank our interim dean, Anne Grippo, for her almost two years of service leading the College of Sciences and Mathematics while the search for a permanent dean was completed.
Below is the media release that the university will issue a little later today.
