Welcome      Grow       Serve      Celebrate

Welcome to our PHUMC family! Betty Snuggs, Diane Dinkins, Thelma Carpenter, and Linda Letson joined our congregation on Sunday. They are all former members of the late Briarwood UMC. You can reach them by text or phone (in our Instant Church Directory phone app) to send them a warm welcome.
Living into our commitment to share our story and be a presence in our community, Parkway Hills will have a hot chocolate table at the Madison Christmas Parade this Saturday, December 2 (weather permitting) and we need some lovely, smiling faces to be present.
If you can aid with this, please click here and meet us at the Caboose at 8:30 am Saturday, December 2. Wear your Parkway Hills t-shirt!
Sunday we began the season of Advent. Four weeks to reflect upon the truth that Christ has come, Christ will come again. Advent is a season where we name dual realities, the work of God in Christ here, now and the not yet of what still has yet to be done. We celebrate Emmanuel, God with us, and we also cry, “How long Lord? Come, Lord Jesus, Come.” We reflect upon the Incarnation and we wait, wait for the reconciliation and renewal begun in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus to be made fully complete, on earth as it is in heaven.

Over the next weeks in worship as we walk through Advent together, lighting a candle each week as we go, we will use our time in worship to think about the doctrine at the heart of the Christian faith, the Doctrine of the Incarnation. Bishop Will Willimon in his work Incarnation: The Surprising Overlap of Heaven and Earth reminds us that the “Almighty God the same being who hung the heavens and flung the stars in their courses, became a man who lived in Nazareth.”

I hope to see you each Sunday in Advent as we move toward the Christmas season. We have some special services planned including a children’s worship December 10 and “The Light of Christmas” musical celebration by our choir and handbells December 17.

PHUMC Women's Ministry has chosen MadCAAP's Holiday Adopt-A-Child as their winter project. We are currently getting some more angels for the tree in the back of the Worship Center, where you can pick an angel to choose a child to sponsor for Christmas. The information is on the angel for the child's name and gift wishes. Have your gifts wrapped and labeled with the child's name placed beside the tree by the end of Worship service on Sunday, December 17. Gifts will be delivered to MadCAAP on Monday, December 18.

New Look for Our Electronic Giving Page

Vanco, our eGiving provider, has updated their online giving platform to make it easier than ever to make one-time gifts or set up recurring donations to our church. Click here to see our changes. Nothing about our online giving has changed except the look of the website, and the app has not changed. If you have a recurring payment or previous login account, all that info has been carried over and you don't have to do anything new.
