Dan Bo, MPHSenior Pre-sales Data Scientist, Teradata
Dan completed her MPH degree in Biostatistics from New York University in 2019 and a BS degree in statistics from China, with additional coursework in Public Health at Duke University. Her career spans roles across healthcare, life sciences, and government sectors. Currently a Sr. Pre-sales Data Scientist at Teradata, Dan supports executive engagements of healthcare companies to position AI/ML-driven solutions. Her expertise includes multi-cloud analytics platforms, generative AI, and scalable machine learning deployment. Previously, Dan led advanced analytics and cost optimization initiatives at Cigna and Montefiore Health System, utilizing statistical modeling, causal inference, and data engineering to deliver multimillion-dollar savings and operational efficiencies. Dan’s work bridges technical expertise with strategic outcomes, emphasizing AI’s role in enhancing healthcare efficiency and decision-making.

Matthew Fenchel, MSManager-Data Science at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC)
Matthew is a biostatistician and manager in the Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology (DBE) at CCHMC – one of the world’s leading pediatric clinical and research institutions. He completed his MS in Statistics in 2006 from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio). Matthew works with health and medical researchers conducting observational studies, clinical trials, basic science and translational research. The medical specialties he has worked with include Pulmonary, Oncology and Blood Disorders, Adolescent Medicine, Dentistry, and Infectious Diseases. In 2011, Matthew became one of the original leaders in the Data Management and Analysis Collaborative (DMAC) within DBE. This unit consists of 35 staff who specialize in data management, data wrangling, and statistics. DMAC functions as the data coordinating center for internal, commercial, and government-funded studies. These include the NIH Rare Diseases Clinical Research Network (RDCRN) and Bench-to-Bassinet (B2B). Matthew enjoys the dual aspects of his career: applying statistics for improving health, and leading / mentoring a great team.

Michelle McNulty, MSBiomedical Informatics Senior Research Data Scientist, Boston Children’s Hospital
Michelle McNulty holds an MS in Biostatistics from the University of Michigan, where she was a Genome Science Training Program Trainee, a BS in Secondary Education with concentrations in Mathematics and Biology, and an associate’s degree in Photographic Technology from Oakland Community College in Michigan. With extensive experience in biomedical informatics and statistical genetics, she currently serves as a Senior Research Data Scientist in the Sampson Lab at Boston Children’s Hospital. In this role, she leads advanced statistical analyses, focusing on single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) and 10x Multiome kidney data related to APOL1-mediated kidney disease and nephrotic syndrome. She previously worked as a Computational Biologist in the same lab during its time at the University of Michigan, contributing to large-scale genomic studies such as GWAS and eQTL mapping. Throughout her career, Michelle has mentored nephrology fellows and junior analysts, fostering their growth in statistical and computational methods.

Gabriela Piasecki, MSSenior Scientist, Statistical Programming at Merck & Co., Inc.
Gabby is a Senior Scientist in Statistical Programming at Merck & Co., Inc., where she leads late-stage clinical studies across the diabetes, cardiovascular, and immunology therapeutic areas. With over four years of pharmaceutical industry experience, she holds an MS in Applied Biostatistics from Boston University School of Public Health and a BS in Statistics with a Minor in Mathematics from Penn State University. Before joining Merck, she started her career interning with and then working full-time at Pfizer while completing her graduate degree. She is passionate about mentorship programs, collaborative teams focused on nurturing young talent and fostering inclusivity, and encouraging students to enter the programming field.

Ayako Shimada, MA, MSStatistician, Division of Biostatistics & Bioinformatics, Department of Pharmacology, Physiology and Cancer Biology, Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University
Ayako Shimada, MA, MS, earned an MA in Economics from Hitotsubashi University, Japan, and an MS in Statistics from the University of Rhode Island, USA. For over six years, she has been working as a Statistician in the Division of Biostatistics & Bioinformatics at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. She specializes in managing and analyzing cancer-related clinical study data, contributing to advancements in oncology and public health research. To further develop her career, she began pursuing a PhD in Biostatistics in Fall 2024.
