Irrigation and Landscaping
RVR crews have been working hard to get water available to the community. Residents should expect water to be accessible by the end of next week. Keep a look out for more details on the irrigation start up process in upcoming mailings.
As the sprinklers fire up, a kind reminder that mother nature can provide moisture to your lawn during early spring, particularly in a wet year such as this. We ask that homeowners stop and think when programing their timers and beginning their watering schedule.
Fertilization and Aeration is also underway. For up to date information and timelines for everything from weed mitigation/spraying to mowing schedules, please visit our updated landscaping page.
Feel free to reach out to Travis with any questions at travis.green@rvrma.org.
Did You Know?
RVR is a special place and there are various details about the community that many may not be aware of. To help inform homeowners about all of RVR's unique features, we will run a "Did You Know" section each week in the newsletter.
Ever wonder why RVRMA takes care of town parks and why we maintain Nuche Park near the Fish Hatchery?
RVRMA's original PUD (Planned Unit Development) was contentious when first created. As many of you know, the land that RVR sits on today was ranchland, and it was not a part of the Town of Carbondale.  There were several interesting demands tied to approvals. They made it necessary that the golf course be public, public parks were required to be installed, and future residents would pay to maintain those public parks. There are many interesting quirks that are unique to RVR. Our community is indeed special, and many of these quirks date back to this period. Some of our current residents can remember the days of RVR’s infancy!
Dr. Greg Feinsinger, right, is presented with a Lifetime Dedication Award by Garfield County Commissioner Mike Samson
Dr. Greg Feinsinger, Lifetime Dedication Award Winner
RVR resident, Dr. Greg Feinsinger, was recently honored at the Garfield County Humanitarian Service Awards dinner for his post-retirement efforts to provide free health and nutrition consultations through the nonprofit Center for Prevention and Treatment of Disease Through Nutrition. He was also instrumental in establishing another nonprofit, La Clinica del Pueblo (The People’s Clinic), providing free medical services to the uninsured and low-income people in the community. Congratulations and thanks for all you do Dr. Feinsinger!

Pet Reminder
We have received various comments from neighbors in the community concerning dogs that are allowed off leash.
As a reminder, dogs off leash are a violation of Carbondale Ordinances and the RVRMA HOA Covenants.
Carbondale P.D. will be regularly patrolling RVR neighborhoods, distributing warnings for dogs that are off leash.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter. We appreciate your efforts towards courteous pet ownership and helping to preserve the peaceful enjoyment of River Valley Ranch!

Green Tip
As you begin your Spring cleaning, why not start with your mailbox?  The U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Consumer Advice website, recommends registering at the Direct Marketing Association’s (DMA) consumer web site DMAChoice.org to filter out junk mail. By registering, you can create an account and select the type of mail you want to receive, and deselect promotional offers, catalogs, and credit offers. The service costs $4.00 for a 10 year subscription. The site also offers the no-cost option to stop mail from being sent to someone who is deceased or to a dependent in your care. So why not save a few trees and stop filling your mailbox with unwanted mail?
No Parking on Grass
After a great winter with much precipitation, our softened sod and irrigation system underneath are much more susceptible to surface damage. Please be sure to advise your contractors, visitors and household members to stay off the grass when parking in RVR.
