Magic Show, Music, Gymnastics & More at This Saturday's Youth & Family Fair

Join your neighbors and friends for a FREE day of family fun at the annual Youth & Family Fair on Saturday, Aug. 2 from 1-4 p.m. at the Ranch House Park and Pool. The Bunny & Birdie Magic Show will be at 1:30 p.m., and Music for Kids by Eric West will start at 3 p.m. The Little Gym of West Littleton will be on-hand with fun activities on their air mat and a drawing for a free birthday party. The Jefferson County Public Library will have crafts and summer reading ideas, Papa Murphy’s will be there with family coupons and samples, and Chick-fil-A will be bringing the Cow and a prize wheel. There will also be community resource vendors such as the Ken-Caryl Parent Network and Colorado Home Realty to provide parents and families with information. Archie's Dog House will be on hand to sell hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks. Come on out and have some fun!

Reminder About Firearms and Projectiles in Parks and Open Space

Please remember that openly carrying, possessing or discharging a device with a projectile is prohibited in the parks and open space. This includes, but is not limited to, firearms, B-B guns, pellet guns, paintball guns, airsoft-type guns, archery equipment and sling shots. If you witness the use of firearms or projectiles in the parks and open space, please contact the Ken-Caryl Ranch Park Rangers at 303-979-1876, ext. 170.

Celebrating 100 Years: All Residents Invited to KCR100 Event at Manor House Aug. 9

The Ken-Caryl Ranch Historical Society will be hosting the KCR100 celebration to honor 100 years of Ken-Caryl Ranch on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the Manor House. What we know today as Ken-Caryl Ranch began on Oct. 17, 1914, with the purchase of 2,660 acres of land southwest of Denver by John Charles Shaffer. This event will have something for everyone in the family: mule-drawn wagon rides, banjo music, a barbershop quartet, a vintage clothing fashion show, games for kids and much more! 

Youth Art Classes This Week: Artsy Totsy & Young at HeART

There are two youth art classes starting this week. Artsy Totsy is for ages 1-3 plus a parent. It's a three-week class on Wednesdays, July 30, Aug. 6, and 13 from 9-9:45 a.m. at the Ranch House Park. The fee is $24 for residents and $30 for non-residents, and the course number is 28761. Young at HeART is a two-week class for ages 4-7 that will be offered on Wednesdays, July 30 and Aug. 6 from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Ranch House Park. The fee is $24 for residents and $30 for non-residents, and the course number is 28764. Register Online or by calling 303-979-4070.

Music a la Mode Aug. 6

The final Music a la Mode concert event of the summer will be Wednesday, Aug. 6 from 6-8 p.m. at the Ranch House Pool. The free concert will feature music by Narrow Gauge and face painters Suzi-Q-Z and Michelle Riccardi. There will be a bounce house, balloon artists and food for sale. We hope to see everyone there!

Residents Sought for Open Space Volunteer Patroller Program

The KCRMA Park Rangers are hosting a training event on Saturday, Aug. 2 from 9-11:30 a.m. at the Ranger Office for residents who would like to join the Open Space Volunteer Patroller Program. You will need to complete a Volunteer Application and a Letter of Commitment in order to participate. Please contact Matt Oven at 303-979-1876, ext. 170, for more information and to register.
