New semester, new schedule! From the first day of classes and registration deadlines to holidays and finals, here’s your cheat sheet for the upcoming semester.

The Department of Cinema and Television Arts climbed to No. 20 on The Hollywood Reporter’s 2026 list of the 25 Best U.S. Film Schools — ranking higher than any other film program in the CSU system.

If you have a class that meets Saturdays only or in combination on Fridays and Saturdays, be sure to attend your first class on Saturday, August 22, 2026. Friday-only classes begin August 28.

Adjusting your schedule online continues, but wait-listing ends August 30. After that, a permission number is required to add a class.

Every Friday, during the fall and spring semesters, the International and Exchange Student Center (IESC) hosts a coffee hour for conversation and cultural exchange. Join the gathering from 2 to 4 p.m. in the IESC office in the University Student Union.

The CSUN AT Conference, which takes place from March 8 to 12, 2027, offers a journal track for academics and researchers to present their work. The call for papers highlights advances in assistive technology, accessibility and inclusion. All journal track proceedings are published in the award-winning “Journal on Technology and Persons with Disabilities.” Submit now through September 1, 2026.
