Newly Named  Auditorium Ribbon Cutting

The OACCT Ambassadors visited the newly named Sharon Stark Auditorium At West Hills the home of Little Theatre of Owatonna.  LTO was organized in April 1966 to bring "culture, entertainment" to Owatonna and the surrounding communities with active participation by all." LTO has produced over 181 plays. The productions are presented fall, winter, spring, summer, and a holiday show every other year. LTO is located at 560A Dunnell Drive, Owatonna.

  • A study session tonight to discuss converting Oak Ave. from a 4 lane road to a 3 lane road, adding a mini-roundabout at Grove & Rose St., updating the roads to the current ADA requirements and completing traffic signal modifications.  
    Study Session: February 19, 2019 at 6:15 pm; City Council Chambers. 
  • The Chamber Ambassadors raised money to cover 5 years of the Ted G. Ringhofer scholarship at their annual Golden Opportunity Dinner.  Pictured are Mike Hamilton and Cory Michaelson emceeing the event-great work!
  • Giving high school students a chance to see what careers in Steele County look like at Made in Owatonna Days this Wednesday.
  • The Chamber is supporting state appropriating funds to re-open the workforce center in Owatonna.  Using the State Workforce Development fund uses dollars already collected by the state. 

Prohibitionists at Kill Cupid:  Historic Pub Crawl? What?


Prohibitionists, some ghosts, a red hand print and a murder were all part of the fun as a group of locals and a few from the metro,  followed Nancy Vaillancourt and her stories from pub to pub on a crunchy snow evening.  Thank you to Reggie’s Brewhouse, The Dog Pound, Just One More and Bridge Street Tavern for hosting us and giving folks another opportunity to get to know downtown Owatonna again or for the first time! 
Some even joining us after the Food and Brew Fest event at the Steele County History Center- for a full Friday of fun and Friends.  

H/R Updates: 

-Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (Dave Skovholt) will be in Owatonna on Wednesday, February 20th  visiting businesses to share information about state labor standards laws. The Labor Standards unit oversees and enforces state wage and hour laws like minimum wage, overtime, child labor restrictions and parental leave.  Click here to reveiw the employer letter from Mr. Skovholt.
