The appointment of Michelle Kang Kim, MD, PhD, as Chair of Cleveland Clinic’s Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition is groundbreaking in several ways. Dr. Kim is the first woman to hold that position at Cleveland Clinic, and she is among the fewer than 10% of gastroenterology division chiefs nationally who are female. Dr. Kim is an expert in neuroendocrine tumors. She will begin seeing patients at the Cleveland Clinic in September. Louisiana NET Program Expands

Dr. Mary Maluccio, Director of the Neuroendocrine Tumor Program, is excited to announce that the New Orleans Louisiana Neuroendocrine Tumor Specialists (NOLANETS) program has expanded to East Jefferson General Hospital. In a new partnership with LSU Health and LCMC Health, this program is looking forward to raising the standard of care for all patients with rare cancer diagnoses, including neuroendocrine tumors, in this part of the country. At East Jefferson General Hospital, the Yenni Cancer Pavilion is a stand-alone cancer center that houses a state-of-the-art radiation oncology department with a 22-chair infusion suite, seven private infusion rooms, and a second floor dedicated to medical oncology and research staff. In addition, the expert multidisciplinary team now extends to include subspecialists in radiation oncology, medical oncology, interventional oncology, surgical oncology, urologic oncology, gynecologic oncology, pathology, palliative care medicine, and clinical social work. Dr. Saif is an internationally known clinical and translational researcher in the field of gastrointestinal cancers. He has both clinical and research interests in the treatment of GI cancers (liver, pancreas, biliary, colon, rectum, carcinoid, GIST, stomach, esophagus, anal).
