Where the Fog Meets the Light
|
As the fog rolls over the city and the wind grows a little sharper on Lone Mountain, we’re reminded that San Francisco’s colder days have arrived. With midterms in full swing and projects piling up, it can be easy to get swept up in the rush of deadlines and expectations. But as the chill settles in, this season invites us to pause, to take a breath, to reflect, and to be gentle with ourselves as we move through these busy weeks.
Patience can feel like a challenge when the semester is moving quickly, yet it’s often in slowing down that we find our clarity. Just as the city takes on a quiet stillness beneath the gray skies, we, too, can find peace in moments of calm: a coffee stop at a local café before class, a walk through Golden Gate Park, or simply sitting in silence for a few minutes before diving back into study mode.
Midterms are a test of endurance as much as they are of knowledge. They remind us that growth takes time and that every effort, no matter how small, brings us closer to our goals. In this season, patience isn’t just about waiting; it’s about trusting the process and caring for ourselves along the way.
As the city lights start to glow a little earlier each evening, it’s also a time to draw close to the people who make San Francisco and USF feel like home. Whether you’re sharing a meal with friends, calling family from afar, or attending a cozy gathering on campus, those moments of connection remind us that we are never alone in this journey.
So as the cold winds sweep through the Bay and the semester’s demands continue, may you find warmth in community, patience in the process, and peace in knowing that brighter days are on their way. The fog may linger, but so does the light within each of us.
