Students who receive Federal Pell Grants and who are planning to study abroad in Spring 2024, Summer 2024, Fall 2024, or academic year 2024-2025 are invited to register for our Gilman essay workshops. Participation qualifies eligible Lions for the LMU Gilman Incentive Grant (GIG). Space is limited.

Discover paid postgraduate fellowships abroad. This webinar will showcase fellowships, similar to Fulbright, that fund postgraduate experiences and graduate study abroad. All majors and academic levels are welcome, but most opportunities require a bachelor's degree by the start of the program. Graduating seniors as especially encouraged to attend.

As part of this paid, virtual fellowship, a cohort of up to 16 educators will explore this challenge over the course of the school year in a community with other passionate Fellows, award-winning journalists, and the Pulitzer Center education team. Ultimately, educators will craft and implement units that help students better understand global issues, practice critical thinking skills, cultivate empathy and belonging, and take informed action. DEADLINE: September 3 & 17LMU Alternative Breaks (AB)
Now accepting applications for the 2023-2024 academic year. AB's mission is to promote cultural exchange at the local, national and international level through interactive community-based learning education. Students critically explore social justice issues that challenge their self-awareness and inspire lifelong social action as active citizens in their communities. This year's immersions include a mix of domestic locations (Arizona, Chicago, Puerto Rico, and West Virginia) as well as international locations (Belize, El Salvador, Guatemala, Philippines, and South Africa/Namibia). Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to learn more and apply HERE. Note: Student leader applications close Sept. 3, and student participant applications close Sept. 17.

DEADLINE: September 6US Foreign Service Internship Program
A merit- and needs-based opportunity that exposes undergrads to US diplomacy and career opportunities at the Department of State through two paid summer internships (in Washington D.C. and at a US Embassy or Consulate abroad). Open to US citizens with a cumulative GPA of 3.2+. Students must be sophomores or juniors when applying and demonstrate financial need. Read more.
