Dear, Teacher...
Click on the video below to see what happens we ask students to write a letter to a teacher that has impacted them, and then surprise those teachers with that letter while they are being "interviewed" about why they love teaching at Brebeuf.

Picture of the Week

This past Saturday, February 25, the Brebeuf Jesuit community enjoyed an unforgettable evening at historic Union Station.
Cirque du Brebeuf Bistro brought together alumni, parents, and friends of Brebeuf Jesuit to celebrate the school. The event included silent and live auctions, delicious food, amazing aerialists, and so much more.
It was a wonderful evening of fellowship and generosity to support Brebeuf Jesuit. Thank you to the Mothers Association, the Bistro Committee, sponsors, and volunteers who continue to be committed to supporting Brebeuf Jesuit in every way possible.

Loves About Brebeuf
In addition to the amazing community that has shaped my Brebeuf experience, one of the things I love most about Brebeuf are the travel opportunities. I had the chance to travel to Italy and Switzerland on tour with the Brebeuf orchestra and I also went on the Spanish immersion trip to Barcelona. Both of these trips broadened my horizons beyond what is familiar and gave me the opportunity to bond with peers and teachers. I would highly recommend taking the opportunity to go on a trip at Brebeuf because they are rewarding and fun.
Favorite Class
I’ve had so many great classes and teachers that it is hard to choose one, but probably my favorite class at Brebeuf was AP US History with Mr. Tague. This is partly because I really like history and partly because Mr. Tague is the coolest. I’d also like to mention AP Literature with Mr. Wagner because he’s an overall good guy.
Future Plans
I plan to attend either Georgetown University or Stanford University and study history and international relations.
Teams & Co-Curriculars
Varsity Soccer Team
Founder and co-dictator of comedy club
Improv Team
Cross Country
Camerata Orchestra
Ignatian Scholars
National Honors Society
Random Facts
While in Italy with the Brebeuf band and orchestra, I accidentally dropped my phone into the Mediterranean Sea. To my knowledge it is still there.
Also my family is credited with the invention of the Reuben Sandwich, which is pretty cool if you’re into that sort of thing.
Saturday Night Live cast member Alex Moffat helped teach me comedy this summer at Second City in Chicago.
What has been your favorite Brebeuf experience or most memorable moment so far?
One of my favorite experiences at Brebeuf was playing soccer as a senior this year. Definitely the most memorable moment for me was scoring a goal with 12 seconds left in the game to beat Westfield. That was a lot of fun for me and it was really cool to celebrate with my teammates.
With Spring Break coming up soon, what do you typically like to do during that time?  Any big plans?
Most of the time I travel with family and friends. This year I am going to Florida with some friends which should be fun.
We heard you are a budding standup comedian...how did you get started doing that?  Have you ever performed live?
I started by watching a lot of comedy videos, but I never really thought about doing it myself until Will Murray (‘18) and I started coming up with ideas for forming a comedy club at Brebeuf. After entering an improv league through the club and performing in front of people, I became much more confident in front of an audience. After that I heard about a summer program at Second City Theater in Chicago. During this program we learned about different forms of comedy including standup. In Chicago I performed for the first time and loved it. When I came back home, I really wanted to try to perform at more open mics. I ended up doing one with Dylan Hall (‘18) at Morty’s Comedy Joint a few weeks ago. Dylan, Will, and I, along with anyone else who wants to join, meet up sometimes to work on sets and write jokes together to prepare for future performances. It is really fun and something I love to do.

Support Ms. Manton and her Daughter Hannah's Stuffed Animal Drive

It started as a simple gesture. Ms. Iris Manton's daughter, Hannah, donated some of her gently used stuffed animals to Officer Wooten.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers keep stuffed animals in their vehicles to give to children who have been involved in a traumatic situation to provide comfort and security for these children.
After hearing that Officer Wooten went through the stuffed animals in a matter of weeks, Ms. Manton and her daughter teamed up to collect clean, gently used or new stuffed animals.  Last year, between Hannah’s after-school program and the students in Ms. Mantons' classes, more than 650 stuffed animals were collected.
The success of the drive and outpouring of support from the Brebeuf Jesuit community has lead to Ms. Manton and Hannah once again collecting stuffed animals this year!
Families interested in donating can bring their clean, gently used, or new stuffed animals to Ms. Manton in Room 124 or the Math Office.
