Annual MFTRP Certification for NSF Awardees |
The National Science Foundation (NSF) now requires all principal investigators (PIs) or co-PIs named on an NSF award made on or after May 20, 2024 to certify annually that they are not party to a Malign Foreign Talent Recruitment Program (MFTRP). Individuals who are currently a party to a MFTRP are not eligible to serve as senior/key personnel on an NSF proposal or on any NSF award made on or after May 20, 2024. International Impact Top Row: In late June, Sylvia Ezekilova, assistant vice provost for sponsored projects, traveled to Georgia where she conducted capacity-building seminars on research administration at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (BSU). The sessions were funded by the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Embassy in Georgia. The week's agenda also included discussions about areas of collaboration between the two universities. Bottom Row: Bob Smith, GW's interim associate vice provost for research innovation and entrepreneurship, spent May in Finland as a Fulbright Specialist at Aalto University. Smith exchanged best practices in research commercialization, business incubation, and mentorship philosophies while showcasing GW's role in the NSF-funded I-Corps program. Smith and Aalto University leadership also explored areas of shared interest and potential collaboration.
