A Note from the President

Dear Tiger Families,
LSU educates the next generation of leaders. Our alumni go on to change the world, but while they’re still students, these incredible young people never rest in their pursuit of excellence.

This year truly showcased their exceptional drive and talent.  LSU students won more than 10 extremely competitive and highly prestigious national academic awards, ranging from Goldwater and Astronaut Scholarships to National Science Foundation Fellowships. In doing so, they competed against the nation’s best student scholars and emerged victorious, demonstrating that an LSU education provides a world-class foundation, no matter what field or degree path you choose.

On top of their academic achievements, our students donated nearly 100,000 hours of service to the community, ranging from neighborhood rejuvenation efforts to sprucing up public K-12 schools before the school year starts.

This combination of academics and service makes LSU students truly stand out from the crowd, and positions them for great things after graduation. I hope you’ll join me in celebrating a tremendous year for our Tigers! I can’t wait to see what the fall brings for them.

As always, thank you for trusting us with your Tiger.

Sincerely,
F. King Alexander
LSU President
