Mark A. Lewis, MD will be the featured guest for CCF's Luncheon with the Experts Facebook LIVE series on Thursday, December 10 from 12 noon to 1 pm, Eastern Time.
Simron Singh, MD
Mark A. Lewis, MD medical oncologist, is Director of Gastrointestinal Oncology at Intermountain Healthcare in Murray, Utah. His interests include young-onset cancers and hereditary cancer syndromes, shared decision-making, and patient-physician communication. Dr. Lewis is active in the SWOG Cancer Research Network, a clinical trials cooperative group created by the National Cancer Institute; within SWOG he chairs Adolescent & Young Adult (AYA) Oncology.
Dr. Lewis has a very unique story for a NET expert! During his medical training, he diagnosed himself with multiple endocrine neoplasia type-1 (MEN1) and so has a particular and deeply personal interest in hereditary tumor syndromes. Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors were found when Dr. Lewis had an endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) in 2009. In 2017 he underwent a Whipple surgical procedure to remove his tumors.
This Facebook LIVE event will be hosted by Rain Bennett, a longtime CCF filmmaker and dear friend of the NET community. To view the program come to CCF's Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/Carcinoid/, at noon Eastern Time. There is no need to register and there is no special link.
Viewers are welcome to pose questions for Dr. Lewis during the live program.
If you are on Facebook but unable to join at the scheduled time, the presentations will remain permanently on CCF’s Facebook page in the Video section, https://www.facebook.com/pg/Carcinoid/videos/.
And for anyone not on Facebook, each of the presentations will be available on CCF’s YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/user/CarcinoidNETsTo receive notifications of all new videos on our YouTube channel, CLICK SUBSCRIBE and HIT THE BELL to receive notifications each time a new video is uploaded.
