Two Nashville Physicians Accept Awards
Congratulations to two Nashville Academy members who accepted awards at the Tennessee Medical Association's annual meeting on April 29. 

Dr. Barrett Rosen (pictured left) received the 2017 Outstanding Physician Award for his lifetime achievement in the field of medicine. Throughout his career, he has exhibited endless dedication to his patients, colleagues and the medical profession. Read the press release here.  

Dr. Adele Lewis (pictured right) received the 2017 Distinguished Physician Award for her outstanding service over the past year to both the TMA and NAM. Read the press release here.

2017 Community Service Award
The 2017 Community Service Award was presented to Regina Mullins, Manager and Outreach Director Magdalene Residential Program with Thistle Farms on April 29 at the TMA Annual Meeting. Regina has dedicated her life to helping women overcome addiction and trafficking. She is a dynamic and inspirational speaker who has a passion for raising awareness about recovery and healing. Read the press release here.

Upcoming Deadlines and Events: 
Professional Privilege Tax Due June 1

Every physician with an active license from the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners (BME) or Board of Osteopathic Examination (BOE) is required to pay a professional privilege tax by June 1 of each year. Physicians will not receive a reminder from the licensing board and only those who have previously signed up for e-mail reminders will receive them from the Department of Revenue. Doctor of Medical Science Discussion
June 27 at 6:30 p.m.
The Nashville Academy of Medicine's Board of Directors has invited Sen. Richard Briggs, MD and John Lacey, III,  MD to deliver a presentation to the membership about Lincoln Memorial University's Doctor of Medical Science degree program for physician assistants.  This presentation will be followed by a Q&A and will take place on Tuesday, June 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the NAM office - 3301 West End Ave, Suite 100 Nashville, TN 37203.
