St. Gallen Essay Competition- Deadline: February 1. Compete for the St. Gallen Wings of Excellence Award and qualify for participation as a Leader of Tomorrow in the world’s premier opportunity for intergenerational debates: The St. Gallen Symposium. They expect a professional, creative and thought-provoking essay. Be bold, unconventional, and distinctive on the following competition question: "Robots are coming for your job. How do you augment yourself to stay economically relevant?" To be eligible, you must be enrolled in a graduate or postgraduate program (master level or higher) in any field of study at a regular university and born in 1988 or later. All contributions will be evaluated equally according to a specific set of criteria by an independent jury composed of professors, corporate executives, and entrepreneurs. The authors of the best 100 contributions qualify as Leaders of Tomorrow and will be invited by the ISC to the next St. Gallen Symposium. The award will be bestowed to the three best competitors, the selection will be based upon the quality of the essays only.
First Generation Civil Rights Fellowship- Deadline: February 2. FirstGEN Fellows is a ten-week summer program in the D.C. area for undergraduate students who are the first in their immediate families to attend an institution of higher education, and who are passionate about pursuing careers in social justice. Each fellow receives a $1,500 stipend. Our mission is to identify, support and advance emerging first generation social justice leaders.
Udall Scholarship- Campus Deadline: February 9, 2018. The Foundation expects to award 50 scholarships to sophomore and junior level college students committed to careers related to the environment, tribal public policy, or Native American health care. Scholarship benefits include lifelong membership in an active and growing network of alumni, meeting other student leaders at the Udall Scholar Orientation, and up to $7,000 for educational expenses. Montgomery Summer Research Diversity Fellowship- Deadline: February 15. The American Bar Foundation sponsors an annual program of summer research fellowships to interest undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds in pursuing graduate study in the social sciences. The summer program is designed to introduce students to the rewards and demands of a research-oriented career in the field of law and social science.
