Shop in the Garden & Garden Centre
The Garden Centre is has plenty of selection for filling gaps with colour, including many roses in bud and bloom, and seasonal ready-to-bloom perennials. We have a fresh supply of herbs including many varieties of Basil.
The yellow-tagged plants are UBC Botanical Garden volunteer grown and include favorites such as Rhodochiton atrosanguineus, a delicate Mexican climber with interesting deep-purple tubular flowers, best grown as an annual.
For the bargain hunters, all Clematis are now 25% off.
The Garden Centre carries statuary, bird-baths and terracotta pots to compliment your plantings and Seasoil to replenish your pots and beds.

SEEDS: There are still lots of vegetables that can be planted now. Check out the West Coast Seed planting guide for Coastal British Columbia. The Shop in the Garden carries West Coast Seeds and UBC Farm Seeds. The UBC Botanical Garden Seeds of popular perennials are terrific souvenirs for visitors who cannot take plants home.
BOOKS: The Shop has a section of books on walks and hikes in and around Vancouver. To complement your hike, we have field guides from assorted pocket guides to the comprehensive Pojar and MacKinnon series, Plants of Coastal British Columbia, Plants of the Western Forest, Plants of Northern BC, and Plants of the Rocky Mountains.
TOOLS: Our tool wall is full of helpers to keep your garden in check and tidy. Start the job with appropriate secateurs and a new pair of gloves.
GIFTWARE: The Shop in the Garden has a line of hand printed cotton tea towels from “Maritime Blues” of Vancouver Island featuring owls, crows, shorebirds, orcas, dogwoods or herons. There are also Vancouver-based “native home” indigenous themed tea towels, as well mugs, coffee thermoses, and tableware bearing Coast Salish patterns which make great gifts when you visit friends around the world.
With free parking and a relaxed atmosphere, the Shop in the Garden is ideal for a stress-free shopping experience. The Shop is open 7 days a week, from 9:30am to 5:00pm.
