This Sunday, join us to celebrate one new life and another life generously and fully-lived!

With joy, we will baptize Lucy Mills Aikens, daughter of Hunter and Adrienne Aikens, and welcome her as a new sister in Christ into the the Parkway Hills family.

Then, with love and gratitude, we'll wish a fond farewell to our long-time member, John Green, who is moving to Charlotte, NC to be closer to his family. Be sure to come hear a little about the great legacy he leaves us to benefit many generations to come, and to wish him all the best.

This Saturday,
April 14th,
is our next Quarterly Gathering, designed to help Dawn and Shawn Flowers get to know their new church family better. If you joined PHUMC in the last 11 to 15 years, you are invited to this third dinner. The Flowers will have a taco bar set up in their home; you bring a side, dessert, or drinks to share.
(If you are a visitor, or a member who was unable to attend at an earlier date, please feel free to attend this gathering if it is convenient for you!) Enjoy fellowship with your pastor and get to know your fellow members better during this casual "come and go" gathering
between 6:00 and 10:00 pm on Saturday, April 14th.

Graduates will be recognized at the service they normally attend, (either 8:30 or 10:45), and all graduates and their families will be honored at a breakfast reception in the Youth Room during the Sunday School hour on April 29th.

The United Methodist Church has called a special session of our General Conference for February 23-26, 2019 in St. Louis, Missouri to deal specifically with the proposals coming from the Commission on the Way Forward formed at General Conference in 2016.

The Commission on the Way Forward has been gathering and engaging in prayerful discernment since their formation to listen for the Spirit’s leading with regard to the language within our Discipline around human sexuality. They should be releasing a report to the Council of Bishops in July of 2018. The Council of Bishops will use this report to structure our time together at General Conference in 2019.

Parkway Hills UMC will be offering opportunities for anyone to come and gain some education around the structure of the UMC, the work of General Conference and the Commission on the Way Forward, as well as ask any questions you may have about the upcoming called session or recent events within the Mississippi Conference of the UMC. Below are the opportunities being offered.

Sunday, April 22nd in The Garden Room immediately following the 10:45 worship service
