PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES - OCTOBER 21, 2020
Parent-Teacher Conferences at Brebeuf Jesuit are designed to keep parents informed about their child's progress, answer questions, and further develop a plan for a student's future. Please see below for more information and scheduling details.
PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCE DETAILS
WHERE:
- Due to COVID-19 safety priorities, Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held virtually via GMeet video conferencing for Fall 2020.
WHEN:
- Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place on Wednesday, October 21.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
- On Monday, October 5, parents will receive an email from Jen LaMaster, Assistant Principal. This email will contain instructions for how to log on to the online parent-teacher conference scheduler, a copy of your child’s schedule, and GMeet access requirements.
SOME IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Parents are welcome to log on and schedule conferences anytime between Monday, October 5 at 9:00 a.m. and Monday, October 19 at 12:00 p.m. Conference registration will close at 12:00 p.m. on the 19th.
- In keeping with Brebeuf IT security protocols, we are using GMeet as the video conferencing platform for these conferences. A Google account is needed to access the conferences. If you do not have a Google account, please see this page to create one.
- Because of the limited number of times available, please prioritize conferences to those classes with academic performance concerns or student learning needs dialogue. If you have questions about on-going or check-in issues, we recommend that you contact the teacher via email or phone as usual.
- We always welcome communication with our families. If you are unable to attend this event or cannot find a time that works with your schedule, please feel free to contact a teacher directly. Teachers will respond to requests within 1-2 business days to set up a mutually convenient time for a phone call or face-to-face meeting. Email check-ins are also welcome!

OPPORTUNITY FOR A VIRTUAL RETREAT BASED ON THE SPIRITUAL EXERCISES
The Institute for Advanced Jesuit Studies at Boston College invites you to participate in 12 Weeks in Manresa: Spiritual Exercises for our Times, a virtual retreat in daily life based on the Spiritual Exercises, using a text offered through Jesuit Sources: “ Finding Christ in the World: A Twelve Week Ignatian Retreat in Everyday Life,” by Joseph Tetlow, S.J., and Carol Atwell Ackels.
In addition to the book, which will guide your daily prayer, there are two additional components of the retreat: presentations on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, led by Fr. Casey Beaumier, S.J., and optional small group faith sharing.
The retreat will begin on October 11 and conclude on January 1. For more information visit the Institute's website. The retreat is designed to be done individually or in a small group, whatever your preference. The retreat will coincide with a virtual Ignatian pilgrimage.

FIRST FRIDAY EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
On the first Friday of each month during the school year (with the exception of January 1), the 7:45 a.m. Mass in the Brebeuf Jesuit Chapel will conclude with the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. The Blessed Sacrament will then remain exposed into the second PRT (1:45 - 2:20 p.m.) with benediction and reposition at about 2:05 p.m.
If you are interested in spending some time in prayer in the Brebeuf Jesuit Chapel (10 minutes, or an hour, or more, or less) between 8:00 a.m. and 2:20 p.m. on these days, email Fr. Chris ( cjohnson@brebeuf.org) with your desired arrival and departure times, and he will register you as a visitor.
Within Catholic tradition there is a rich variety of devotional prayer. Prayer before the Blessed Sacrament exposed is one of those devotions. Some may be familiar with this practice and others not. If you would like to learn a bit more about it, whether you have an interest in engaging in the practice or not, Fr. Chris would be pleased to take your questions.
