Some ideas to help as temps rise
There are some very simple things you can do in your home to save money, improve comfort and increase energy efficiency as spring turns into summer and temperatures heat up:
Turn up the thermostat and use fans
Make sure that window air-conditioning units are propertly fitted
Open windows and ventilate naturally
Use power strips with on/off switches
Fire up the grill or use the microwave
Turn off unused lights and appliances
Clean or change your air-conditioning filter and tune up your AC
Unplug battery chargers and power adapters when they are not being used
Wash clothes in cold water
Air dry your clothes
Turn your water heater's temperature down
Let computers go into sleep mode instead of using screen savers
Plant shade trees and shrubs
