[1] Inside the Legislative Frontlines - State and Federal Updates
Washington State: Employers will need to begin deducting a .58% payroll tax from employees' paychecks starting July 1. The deductions will fund Washington's first-in-the-nation long-term care insurance Program, WA Cares. Read more in the recent Seattle Times article.

Federal Government:The Charitable Act was introduced in the House last week. The bill would allow all taxpayers to deduct up to one-third of the value of the standard deduction for charitable contributions. The bill is intended to incentivize charitable giving. There is always so much to do and not enough time to do it. Therefore, we feel like the only way to get it all done is to keep going. Studies show, however, that by taking a break and stepping back that our decision making is improved and space is created for breakthrough thinking.
