Ripple Effects — Bob Berkebile and BNIM Today
BNIM celebrates Bob Berkebile, FAIA, as he was recognized with the Edward C. Kemper Award by the Board of Directors and the Strategic Council of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) at the 2022 AIA National Convention in Chicago this June. The ripple effects from Bob's work and initiatives continue to shape the profession and inspire the trajectory of BNIM’s practice in efforts including:

Targeting Climate Action: BNIM is committed to sustainable reporting and transparency with the development of our sustainable action plan and annual sustainability reports, Subject To Change.  BNIM staff have also held an active role in advocating for climate policy at national and local initiatives like Climate Action KC and the latest energy codes, such as IECC 2021 in KCMO.
Community Resiliency: Our firm is focused on the design of spaces that strengthen, support, and invest in communities' futures. BNIM recently worked with Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City (Habitat KC) to renew the organization's offices for Habitat KC to continue their work in helping local families who need safe, stable, and affordable homes.
Activating Multi-disciplinary Collaboration: BNIM works with our clients and collaborators across disciplines to design spaces informed by many perspectives. BNIM's work with the Harkin Institute for Public Policy and Citizen Engagement guided the inclusive design of the Tom and Ruth Harkin Center and has led to advancing design practices for equity and inclusion.
