		Vishing Scam Tips Beware of recent phone scams claiming to be from NDTC. You are your best defense against these attacks. Follow these suggestions to avoid the trap: Be extremely suspicious when someone calls you with a sense of urgency. Never purchase gift cards or pre-paid debit cards over the phone. If they are a company asking for information they should already have, hang up! Don't trust Caller ID. Cyber criminals can spoof a phone number, so it looks like it is coming from a reputable company. The Caller ID may show "Private Number". Never allow a caller to access your computer or convince you to follow an unknown link. Hang up when you believe a phone call is a scam. Call the customer support phone number of that company directly yourself if you want to confirm you were really talking to someone from that organization. Let an unknown caller go directly to voicemail and listen for a recorded message later. Purchase Call Screening service from NDTC. Call Screening greets your callers with an automated message to press 1 if they are not a telemarketer. If a 1 is not selected, the call will not complete, and your home phone will not ring. If a 1 is selected, that caller is added to your "approved list". Scams and attacks over the phone are on the rise. Don't be a victim!
