Mercy Community Healthcare names mental health facility after Naomi Judd
By Carole Robinson • Senior Staff Writer
Naomi Judd was more than a famous singer who dabbled in acting; she was a generous and beloved member of the community who was often seen on Main Street talking to strangers like they were good friends. To her, no one was a stranger; they were friends she had yet to meet.
Last year, on April 29, Naomi returned home after several weeks traveling through Europe with her husband, Larry Strickland, on a month-long tour performing with Dennis Jale. She needed to prepare for her upcoming induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame and a nationwide Love Can Build a Bridge tour with Wynonna.

GraceWorks’ recent annual benefit dinner raised more than $400,000 through the silent auction and table collection baskets to help with the diverse needs of low income residents in Williamson County and provide hope working with the organization’s many ministries.
Those services are made possible by a partnership of churches and public and private entities who worked to develop and maintain “wraparound services” for those in need of a leg up. This fiscal year GraceWorks served 13,517 unduplicated neighbors.

Franklin Rodeo to feature Oklahoma rodeo clown
By Ruth Nicklaus for the Williamson Herald
John Harrison loves to make people laugh, and he’s been doing it since he was a school kid.
He remembers being sent to the principal’s office in high school, still cracking jokes. “Every time the principal busted me, I’d shake his hand and say, ‘Thanks for making me a better person,’” Harrison said. “It aggravated him when I did it.”
Now he’s being paid to be funny.

Titans drafting another QB deja vu for vet Ryan Tannehill
By TERESA M. WALKER • AP Pro Football Writer
NASHVILLE (AP) — The final year of his current NFL contract is not a topic Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill will discuss.
Yes the quarterback who turns 35 in July noticed the Titans drafted a quarterback for a second straight year. This time, the franchise traded up to No. 33 to take Kentucky's Will Levis, its highest selection used at quarterback since taking the man Tannehill replaced at No. 2 overall in 2015.
A case of deja vu for sure.
