School of Rock Remote in Control!

March definitely went out like a lion! But thanks to your patience and perseverance, and the incredible hard work and dedication of our teachers and staff, we had a great first week rolling out the School of Rock Remote lessons. It has been great to reconnect with our students and get back to the music! We cannot thank you enough for your continued support during this fluid situation. Our community is strong and with your support we will all get through this. From the bottom of our hearts – THANK YOU!

"Wait, I am a prospective new student, what is School of Rock Remote?"

It is our online, one-on-one music education program allows students to take music lessons remotely. School of Rock Remote furthers your child’s musical journey in a way that prioritizes well-being through social distancing. Weekly one-on-one online instruction is conducted by our expert School of Rock instructors in a safe virtual lesson room. Students receive their training using our proprietary education program, The School of Rock Method™, which couples virtual lessons with our proprietary Method App™, SongFirst Approach™ and Method Books™.

Guest Artist Sessions

In partnership with the Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide (sptsusa.org), we are connecting with artists to make a difference in the lives of our students through guest artist workshops, live Q&A, contest, and more! The Artist Sessions series is available to EVERY active student enrolled in School of Rock at no additional cost. The link to join this and future sessions will be emailed to parents, as well as posted in our Facebook groups.

Remote Rookies LIVE

Looking for a fun, engaging, educational, and musical activity for younger students? Remote Rookies LIVE to the rescue! Classes are currently being offered at 10AM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Description & Details:

All online Rookies Remote classes will be led by our Senior Rookies Instructor, Chris Horton.

Each session Chris will be providing our young musicians with exciting and engaging classes that will involve things like:

Live instruction for at-home activities
Ongoing weekly assignments to keep everyone thinking (scavenger hunts, instrument “building” etc.
Fun adventures with other SOR Guest Instructors & pop-ins
Parent coaching & instruction to use throughout the week between sessions

Get Ready for Master Classes!

Our incredible staff have been working tirelessly to create AMAZING masterclasses for our Performance Program and Rock 101 students! We will also be tapping into our amazing School of Rock network to bring you some great sessions from teachers we know in other areas. The classes will be rolled out later this week and will be on a wide range of interesting topics, led by expert instructors. We will be putting out a calendar via email this week. Stay tuned!

Have You Downloaded the School of Rock Method App??

Hello SORocker Parents and Adult Lesson Students! The School of Rock Method App is included with your enrollment and is a great tool for ensuring you and/or your student are getting the most out of their School of Rock lesson practice at home and a great way for you to see what they are working on. BUT in order for all this awesomeness to happen, you need to get your app access set up! Parents & adult students, please make sure to reach out with any questions, but it all starts with making sure you and your child are set up in Pike 13. Questions? Call Brian on 703-242-2184.

2020 Summer Camps Update

If you have enrolled in a Summer 2020 Camp - hang tight - we're rolling with the changes! Given some of the uncertanty we are working on adding later sessions and will be happy to move your camper once we have a better idea of what is possible. We are also looking at some cool online ways of delivering camps! Stay tuned.

In the meantime, our camps are pretty full already so don't wait to sign up! There's no place like School of Rock for summer music fun! We offer camps for beginner thru advanced players ages 7 thru 15. Check it all out with a click to the button below.

Summer Intern Program Sign Up is Coming

For many years we have offered summer internships to our Performance Program students age 12 and up where they can not only rock in our regular programs over the summer, but can help out in our summer camps as well.

Being an intern is a great opportunity to work on your musicial and leadership skills and it's fun! Stay tuned for more details to be emailed out shortly.
