CATCHING UP WITH DANA CECIL MILLER
Soon after graduating Dana Cecil Miller (MSCJ '10) began working at UW-Platteville, serving as the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice program coordinator and teaching courses online and on campus. She is now a Program Manager in the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Three faculty members recently received recognition from UW-Platteville. The university's Women's Council honored Women and Gender Studies Instructor Dong Isbister with the 2018 UW-Platteville Woman of Color Award,Computer Studies Instructor Donna Gavin received the 2018 Carol Sue Butts Woman of the Year Award, and Business Studies Instructor Louis Nzegwu was selected for the 2018 University of Wisconsin-Platteville Excellence in International Advising Award

NEW NAMES, NEW OPPORTUNITIES
Distance Education is undergoing a transformation! The Alternative Delivery Systems division, which housed the Distance Learning Center, is now the Division of Professional Studies. This new division encompasses the Center for Distance Learning (formerly the DLC), Continuing Education Institute (formerly the Office of Continuing Education), and School of Graduate Studies. With this change, we will be able to provide students and alumni with a wider variety of programming and opportunities. Watch for more information to come about our new division and how it will benefit you as a distance education alum.

Save the date! Join us October 17 for a Virtual Career Fair, hosted by the Center for Distance Learning and the Career and Professional Development Office, in partnership with the National Science Foundation.
