| Hello,
March is Women’s History Month, and I would like to take a moment to give thanks to the many courageous women who are working every day to end and prevent domestic violence. They work as advocates, shelter and hotline staff, case managers, therapists, attorneys, community health workers, police officers, victim services advocates, and every day they provide supportive services to victims of domestic violence. We are so grateful for their enduring commitment!
We are especially grateful to DCADV’s two task forces, WEAVER, Women Empowered Against Violence in Every Relationship Task Force (WEAVER), and the Women of Color Task Force (WOCTF). Their heartfelt passion, generosity of time, and commitment to end and prevent domestic violence are unwavering!
WEAVER and the Women of Color Task Force focus on the safety and rights of DV victims. The task force members engage in public education through speaking engagements, outreach events, and statewide advocacy. The women in these taskforces are dedicated to raising awareness about domestic violence and advocating for resources for DV survivors.
You can support the work of the WEAVER and Women of Color Task Forces through the DoMore24 Campaign; please see the information link below.
Many, many thanks to all the women who are working tirelessly to help victims of domestic violence!
Peace,
|

The WEAVER Task Force has been continuing to keep busy this year. In January, Denise was excited to attend the WOCTF ‘s event at the Wilmington Library. It was so impactful and uplifting to listen to their members, who are survivors of domestic violence, share their stories of not just surviving but thriving beyond their experiences of abuse.
WEAVER members have been participating in a series of health fairs at Delaware State University, including the Sexual Health and STIs presentation and the HIV/Aids and Heart Health Day. They also attended a Teen Dating Violence Awareness event at Sussex Vo-Tech on February 13th. Task force members were excited to join a handful of other advocacy and support groups and speak to the students about safe relationships and the red flags of an unhealthy dating relationship. WEAVER was excited to engage with hundreds of students during their lunch breaks!

What if everyone in Delaware knew where to turn for help?
What if people all over the state were trained and ready to lend a hand?
What if every voice that needed support could be heard?
What if, together, we really could help prevent and end domestic violence?
Good news - we can! And it’s possible because of members like you.
Your membership helps keep our outreach, training, advocacy, and daily work going strong all year long. It means more survivors get help, more advocates have tools to support them, and more neighbors stand up to say enough is enough.
